MATT ADAMS CUSTOM HOMES

When considering a home builder, Matt stands out with a quality resume and a proven team that works well together to meet and beat promised deadlines.

The Matt Adams Distinction

Matt is revered for three reasons.

First, he is an in-demand craftsman with a very unique set of skills. He ascertained at a very young age that the most respected general contractors were skilled in every trade, from framing and pouring concrete to plumbing and carpentry, and selecting unique solutions for every room.

Second, he is sought after by the area’s wealthiest families because he caters to their unique tastes with his curated international offerings and resources.

Third, he keeps secrets well, which is essential when building and often helping design homes of many of the Fort Worth area’s most distinguished families. “My clients have engaged me to build homes anywhere from 10,000 to 30,000 square feet. They appreciate how I protect their confidence. It’s all about trust and respect.

YOUR Preferred Style – Not the Builder’s Style

A distinctive difference exists between a home builder and a craftsman who builds homes.

Most traditional home builders offer a style or design they prefer to work with. On the other hand, a true craftsman – an artisan such as Matt Adams – embraces the opportunity to create a home from the ground up. He takes into consideration the topography of the land, the views from the highest point of the home, and how to create a one-of-a-kind domicile that is customized to the future homeowner’s greatest aspirations.

Matt has applied his talents to design a variety of homes, including Cape Cod, Colonial, Contemporary, Farmhouse, French Provincial, Ranch, Spanish, Tudor, and Victorian styles.

OK, the Crane

Matt’s most memorable feature was a complex cantilever system that required steel I-beams that weighed 130 pounds per foot. The cantilever extended a structure horizontally and was supported on only one end. The enormous size of the roof extension required tons of steel support beams.

He hired a 240-foot Grove crane for a six-month period. He was told this was the first time anyone had used such a powerful piece of equipment for home construction in the Fort Worth area.

Just one year later, Matt called for another crane for a 30,000 square-foot home in the same area, overlooking what was then Carswell Air Force Base. At the time, this home was considered to be the most expensive residence in all of North Texas.

A Commitment to Quality Workmanship

Just as homeowners completely trust Matt Adams, he relies on his most trusted resources that have served him and his family for decades. His initial consultations with new clients yield a complete understanding of the new homeowner’s persona within that home, so Matt can deliver a masterpiece to bring joy and fulfillment long after the move-in date.

Matt is intensely loyal to long-time suppliers. “My grandfather bought the first cubic yard of concrete that Tarrant Concrete ever poured in 1968, and we have bought from them ever since. My grandfather built the Sweeney Lumber Company complex in the 1950s, and we continue to buy lumber from them.”

Such intense loyalty and peak performance benefit Matt Adams’ clients.

Trust Throughout the Process

Matt Adams will not be the least expensive quote a prospective homeowner receives, but he will offer the most accurate estimate.

“On three separate occasions, I submitted a proposal that was higher than another builder’s bid. Each time, the homeowner called me in the middle of the process, lamenting about their contractor after realizing it was a low-ball bid just to get the business. By the time the construction was completed, the other contractor had exceeded my estimate, and the homeowners were frustrated. They realized the builder had not been honest with them.

Such a (selective) mindset gives Adams the freedom to be picky with his projects, of which he has three at the moment, including a new Victorian build across from River Crest. – Fort Worth, Texas Magazine – July 2025 “The Luxe Life Edition”

A DEDICATED CRAFTSMAN

One sign of a true craftsman is the depth of tools that he brings to the project. With family construction dating back to his great-great-grandfather, George Fletcher Adams, in the late-1800s.

Matt still conducts business with Wren Planing Mill, just as his great-grandfather B.B. Adams did, and still accesses the library of molding knives collected over the last 100+ years on restoration projects.

Matt’s clients enjoy the benefits of his family’s multi-generational relationships with specialty contractors.

A true artisan understands his challenge is how to reflect the homeowner’s persona within that home and to deliver a masterpiece that brings joy and fulfillment long after the move-in date. He also draws inspiration from the neighborhood to create a home that is distinctive while also complementing the surrounding homes.

Matt cares as much about future resale value of the home as he does for working with the architect and future homeowners to conceive and deliver comfort, the appropriate degree of elegance and practicality.

When considering a home builder, Matt stands out with a quality resume and a proven team that works well together to arrive under-budget and meet quality expectations.
